Lights On Jupiter’s purpose is to bring joy to the community. We strive to do this not only through our Christmas lights, but also by using our platform to help others in need.
• Lighten: The spirits in our community with our annual Christmas light show fundraiser, with over 50,000 flashing lights to music, each year benefiting an organization.
• Brighten: The holidays can be a sad time for many; however, we want to brighten the spirits of everyone!
• Heighten: The spirits of Briarwood Nursing & Rehab where we will ensure that no nursing home patient is left out this Christmas by donating small gifts and common necessities to all the seniors.
• Vision: We envision a society that is filled with joy, no matter the time of year.

Public Record DownloadsThe problem is the lack of support to elders in nursing homes. There are a countless number of organizations that offer support to children during Christmas time such as: Make-A-Wish, The Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, and United Way just to name a few. While it is fantastic that are so many organizations willing to help give children presents, there are not many organizations dedicated to ensuring that elders and nursing home patients have the same joy during Christmas time. It is an often-overlooked demographic, but a much-needed center of concentration.
The other problem is that there are no more large Christmas light displays in Central Arkansas since the closure of the Burns Park- North Little Rock Christmas light drive through in 2014. According to the Huffington Post “Sometimes this time of year isn't so merry and bright… experts say that the holiday blues are a very real phenomenon.” Lights On Jupiter hopes to grow to a point that we can offer something to the great State Of Arkansas on such a scale as the Burns Park Christmas light drive through did. We hope that our lights can raise the spirits of anyone attending.
Lights On Jupiter was officially incorporated in 2018 by then 18-year-old philanthropist, Shane Johnson with the mission to Lighten, Brighten, and Heighten the spirits of those in our community and a purpose to bring joy to the community. In 2014, Shane created a musical Christmas light show timed to music that attracted many visitors. With local media attention and a growing number of spectators, he realized that he wanted to use this attention to give back to the community. Donations were collected at the show and went directly to Make-A-Wish. From 2014-2017 he raised over $4500 for Make-A-Wish and granted a total of 3 wishes that includes a trip and two shopping sprees. Funds raised from the 2018 Christmas light show would allow him to donate $1,300 worth of blankets, lotions, coloring books, socks, hats, gloves, snacks, and even specific presents and to over 150 seniors at Briarwood Nursing & Rehab. 2019 followed similar.
The Hearts 4 Holidays (H4H) project focuses around the three main words of our mission statement. Lighten, Brighten, and Heighten. The focus of Hearts 4 Holidays is to give back to those who gave to us all their lives: The elderly, an often-forgotten demographic that is in just as much need as Children that would go without Christmas gifts. Our 2018 Christmas Light show would raise over $2000, and with this we were able to donate over $1,300 worth of blankets, lotions, coloring books, socks, hats, gloves, snacks, and even specific presents and request by a patient, to EVERY (150+) senior at Briarwood Nursing & Rehab.
